Kadai Mutter

Ingredients

  1. Green peas (Mutter) – 2 cups
  2. Onion – 1 no
  3. Ginger – garlic paste – 1 Tbsp
  4. Tomatoes – 3 nos
  5. Lemon juice – 1 Tsp
  6. Green chilli – 1(deseeded and slit)
  7. Garam Masala – 3/4 Tsp
  8. Red chilli powder – 1/2 Tsp
  9. Coriander powder – 1 Tsp
  10. Kasoori methi – 1 Tbsp
  11. Black cardamom – 1
  12. Salt – to taste
  13. Dry red chillies – 2 nos
  14. Fenugreek seeds – 1/4 Tsp
  15. Fresh coriander chopped – 2 Tbsp
  16. Oil – 3 Tbsp

Preparation

  1. Heat 3 Tbsp of oil in a kadhai, add fenugreek seeds and whole red chillies. Let the fenugreek seeds turn golden in colour.
  2. Add chopped onion, ginger-garlic paste and saute over medium heat for a couple of minutes.
  3. Add garam masala, red chilli powder and coriander powder.
  4. Add lemon juice, finely chopped tomatoes and saute for 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes get well blended.
  5. Add green peas and salt to taste.
  6. Add crushed seeds of black cardamom, kasoori methi, green chillies and fresh green coriander. Stir-fry for 1 minute.
  7. Serve with hot Paranthas or Roti.
