Beef Steak

Steaks made of whatever meats are mouthwatering for all non-vegetarians. Steaks are common in all European or western menus. Nowadays, steaks started appearing in Indian menus also. American beef steaks are very famous. Steaks are easy to make but the best steak will be made only if you make it by taking enough time. Preparation will take 15 to 20 minutes only but the meat piece needs to be marinated at least for 12 hours in the prepared sauce. The best combination with steaks is smashed potatoes and boiled vegetables. 

Here I am going to show you how to make beef(buffalo meat) steak, mashed Potato, and boiled vegetables.

Ingredients

Beef steak

1.   Beef slice: ½ kg

2.     Crushed Garlic: 2 tablespoon

3.     Mustard sauce: 2 tablespoon

4.     Olive oil: 2 tablespoon

5.     Soya sauce: 2 tablespoon

6.     Balsamic vinegar: 2 tablespoon

7.     Paprika powder: 1 teaspoon (Kashmiri chili powder can be used)

8.     Pepper powder: 1 teaspoon

9.     Table salt: ¼ teaspoon

1.  Honey: 1 teaspoon

1. Tamarind paste: 25 g

       For mashed potato

1.     Potato: ½ kg

2.     Butter: 50 g

3.     Pepper powder: 1/2 to 1 Teaspoon

4.     Table salt: ¼ to ½ Teaspoon

        For Vegetable salad


1.     Carrot: 2 no. s

2.     Broccoli: 100 g

3.     Coly flower: 100 g

4.     Green piece: 50 g

5.     French beans: 50 g

6.     Cabbage: 100 g

7.   Capsicum: 1 no   

    Preparation


     Beef steak

  1.Taste of the steak purely depends on the sauce we make for marinating the meat. A perfect combination of the sauce will get you a very tasty steak. Take crushed garlic, add mustard sauce, soya sauce, Tamarind paste and balsamic vinegar and stir well. After mixing well, add olive oil, paprika powder or Kashmiri chili powder, pepper powder and table salt and stir again. You can add honey now while stirring it. Mixing should be continued till you get a perfect pasty mix.

   2.Put a layer of this paste/sauce in the marinating bowl and put cleaned beef slices on those. Pour the paste again into the bowl and coat the slices very well with the mixed paste. Make sure that no slices are without this coating.

   3.Once all the beef slices completely immersed in the sauce, cover the bowl with cling film and keep it in the refrigerator. I suggest 8 hours minimum marinating time for the best taste. This is from my own experience.After marinating, you can cook the steak in 2 ways. The best is keep the slices on a baking tray and cook it for 20 minutes in a microwave oven in convection mode and then cook again in grill mode for 15 minutes. (cooking duration may be varied with respect to the oven). Check intermittently whether it is done or not as per your requirement.The second way is to cook on a hot Tawa by turning it upside down at regular intervals.

       Mashed potato and boiled Vegetables


   1.Mashed potato and boiled vegetables can be made in a few minutes. Cut and clean potatoes and vegetables in desired sizes and put those separately in a steaming pot and steam those for 10 minutes. Pour a little bit of table salt and pepper on the vegetables before starting to steam. After steaming, vegetables are ready to serve. Potatoes need to be mashed with a potato masher. While mashing, small pieces of butter need to be added and mix thoroughly. Pepper powder and table salt can be added as per your taste. Once you get a well-mixed paste, the entire dish is ready to serve.
